COURSE STRUCTURE

FACE-TO-FACE WORKSHOP
Approx. 4–5 hours of hands-on training at a PICAC campus or regional venue, focusing on: system design, practical installation technique and troubleshooting.
ONLINE COURSE
Approx. 3–4 hours of self-paced learning covering theory, system types, and energy efficiency principles.

KEY TOPICS COVERED

  • How heat pump hot water systems work
  • Types of systems: Integrated vs Split-System
  • System Design, rebates and subsidies
  • Refrigerants and their impact on performance
  • Installation best practices and placement guidelines
  • Factors affecting performance: temperature, humidity, location
  • Energy efficiency and Coefficient of Performance (COP)
  • Sizing systems for household demand

COURSE ELIGIBILITY

WHO CAN ENROL
This training is available to:
  • Registered and licensed plumbers in Victoria
  • Fourth-year plumbing apprentices in Victoria
You do not need to be working in Solar Victoria’s programs to qualify.

COST

This training is completely free for eligible participants (see above). It is fully funded by the Victorian Government through Solar Victoria’s Training and Workforce Development Program.
